The ESA-NASA spacecraft watching the Sun since 1995.
The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) is an ESA-NASA spacecraft launched on 2 December 1995 to study the Sun. Planned for two years, it has operated for about three decades from near the Sun-Earth L1 point.
It supplies near-real-time data for space-weather forecasting and has also discovered more than 5,000 comets.
