He currently serves as a contemporary music professor at Sungshin Women's University.
Music career
Lee Yoon-sang first picked up a bass guitar to play in a backing band for Kim Wan-sun. That year he dropped Vol.1, a synthpop record that sold well. It became one of Korea’s first mainstream world music albums and was a hit. He also teamed up with rock musician Shin Hae-chul for the collaborative project NoDance, releasing a techno album called Golden Hits.
His fifth album, There Is A Man... In 2008 he put out a tribute album, YOONSANG SONGBOOK : Play With Him!, with covers by Korean acts like electronic duo Peppertones and rock band My Aunt Mary. The following year, while studying at NYU’s School of Music Technology for two semesters, he formed the project group mo:tet with musicians Kayip and Superdrive. Both collaborators had deep experience in electronic and IDM music, and Yoon Sang wanted to bring those styles more attention in Korea.
They produced the album by swapping files over email and MySpace, then held a showcase at Hongik University. In 2015 he joined the Infinite Challenge Music Festival, paired with cast member Jeong Jun-ha. Four years later, he served as a judge on the JTBC talent show Superband. 2022 marked his debut as a music director for the film Twisted House, and that July he was confirmed as a participant in the program Sing in the Green.
Personal life
He then studied abroad, receiving a bachelor's in music synthesis from Berklee College of Music in 2007 and a master's in music technology from New York University in 2010. Their older son debuted in September 2023 as Anton, a member of the SM Entertainment boy group Riize.
