Last updated
GamesRadar included it on a list of games that could serve as a cure for entomophobia.[1] In Mister Mosquito, players take on the role of a mosquito tasked with extracting blood from a human family.[2]
Making and release
Eidos released the game under its "Fresh Games" label.[2] According to Eidos' Kevin Gill, the company chose to release quirky games like Mister Mosquito because they have brilliant gameplay that would otherwise be unlikely to appear outside Japan.[2] Eidos Interactive released the game in North America on March 13, 2002, and in PAL territories on March 22, 2002.[2] During its debut week in Japan, Mister Mosquito achieved the fifth-highest sales position, with 41,006 units sold, as reported by Famitsu.[3]
By the close of 2001, roughly 160,210 copies of the game had been sold within Japan.[3] Outside of Japan, Mister Mosquito's sales were weaker.[3]
