Reception
In 1994, Sandy Petersen reviewed Bio Menace in Dragon #202, giving it 2 out of 5 stars. A German PC Games reviewer praised the animated enemy behavior, smooth movement, and fast scrolling in all directions. A shareware reviewer for PC Review noted that the animation of biomonsters set it apart from Duke Nukem but commented that Apogee needed to innovate. A retrospective review at Hardcore Gaming 101 praised the game's look and satisfying controls, attributing the lack of stiffness to the Commander Keen engine, but called the music a weak point, noting that composer Bobby Prince did not show his strong side here.
