Quantice Never Crashed, a screamo band from Staten Island, New York, was most active in the mid-2000s. Founding members included Phil on bass, Vinny on guitar, Mikey on drums, Pat on guitar, and Philly on vocals. Members were only credited by their first names on albums and promotional materials. Bassist Phil DiMarco later played drums in emo band Common Sage.
History
Quantice Never Crashed started in 2002 as Howard Finster, named for the folk artist. After a self-released demo in 2004, they switched to their permanent name. Their debut, self-titled album came out October 19, 2004, on The Death Scene, backed by heavy touring. Reviews appeared in Maximumrocknroll, Teeth of the Divine, and Punk Planet; the track "Lighthouses" made it onto AMP Sampler volume 11 that year.
Lineup shifts followed, and in 2006 singer Philly left, ending the band. A 2007 fundraiser brought them back for one show. Later reunions included Punk Island in 2013 and a 2020 set with Soul Glo. They are set to play Flames Fest 2024 on June 8th at Mother Pugs Saloon on Staten Island.
