Background
Hollow Jan formed in October 2003 and released their debut EP Hyacinthus Orientalis of Purple in 2005. The band members all hold office jobs, leading them to coin the term 'two-job' band for themselves. In 2006, they put out their first full-length album Rough Draft in Progress, which won Best Rock Album at the 2008 Korean Music Awards.
They played the 2009 Pentaport Rock Festival and the 2012 Jisan Valley Rock Festival. Their second album Day Off arrived in 2014; Korean Music Awards selection committee member Lim Heeyoon nominated it for best rock album, calling it 'An album like an auditory detail depicting a tumult on the verge of extinction.' In 2015, they appeared on The EBS space alongside Urban Zakapa. After a long gap, they released the EP Confusion (다떠위다) in 2023, followed by 'An Inaudible Voice' in 2024.
