Hamilton wins in Monaco as Ricciardo's pitstop gamble backfires.
The 2016 Monaco Grand Prix (formally known as the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2016) was a Formula One motor race held on 29 May 2016 at the Circuit de Monaco. It was the sixth round of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship. Lewis Hamilton took victory ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, with Sergio Pérez completing the podium.

Daniel Ricciardo achieved the first pole position of his career during Saturday's qualifying. In the race, Ricciardo lost time during a pitstop when his engineers made a last second strategy call to swap to a different set of tyres while mechanics were already in the pit lane; as a result, the tyres arrived late to the car. Sergio Pérez's podium was Force India's first appearance in the top three of the season and their first since the 2015 Russian Grand Prix.
