MetLife Stadium is one of two stadiums shared by two NFL teams; the other is SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. The stadium does not have a roof, as proposals to include a roof failed over a dispute for funding. The playing surface is FieldTurf Core System, the first multilayer dual-polymer monofilament fiber surface, installed in 2023.

The stadium has seating for 82,500 people, including 10,005 club seats and approximately 218 luxury suites. It features four 30 feet (9.1 m) by 116 feet (35 m) HD video displays, upgraded in 2025 with 8MM high-resolution LED boards and a new audio system. The facade is clad in limestone-like stonework with an outer skin of aluminum louvers and glass, and interior lighting can switch colors—blue for the Giants and green for the Jets. The field can be reconfigured for either team within hours. The stadium has four locker rooms: one each for the Giants and Jets, plus two for visiting teams.
