Plot

After the events of the first game, the Rabbids grow tired of the Glade of Dreams and decide to invade Earth. A breaking news report shows the Rabbids arriving in large, yellow flying submarines and attacking a broadcaster named Jennifer Hart in Paris. Rayman, seeing this on his television, sets out to stop them. He infiltrates a mall overrun by Rabbids, disguising himself by wearing two socks on his head, a headband with makeshift eyes, and inhaling helium to alter his voice.

He distracts two guard Rabbids with a soda can, steals a plunger, and climbs to the roof, where he observes the Rabbids watching a montage of everyday human life to learn how to act like humans. A Rabbid notices him, and Rayman falls into the mall, where he is spotted by the Rabbid Leader, a Rabbid with split-color eyes. The leader produces a European Wii copy of the first Raving Rabbids game and seems to recognize Rayman. Thinking quickly, Rayman screams "BWAAAAAAAAH!" to convince the Rabbids he is one of them. He is then led into an airborne submarine, which takes the group to a location for invasion.

Reception

Critics gave Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 a mixed but generally positive reception, though it scored lower than its predecessor with a 68% average on GameRankings versus 76%. IGN called it a letdown, arguing its minigames were weaker than the original’s. GameSpot agreed it lacked the first game’s charm but acknowledged it still had enjoyable parts. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences nominated it for Family Game of the Year at their 11th awards ceremony.
