Globox is a toad-like creature who is Rayman's dimwitted best friend and sidekick. Although easily frightened, he has often demonstrated his courage and has a heart of gold. However, from Rayman M and onward, he is no longer cowardly. He and his wife Uglette have over 650 children. For his speaking role, in Rayman 2, he is voiced by Christian Erickson, but in Rayman 3 he is voiced by John Leguizamo.

Reader's Guide

Globox appears throughout Rayman 2: The Great Escape as a non-playable character who advances the story. He is first seen alongside Rayman confronting the robotic pirates. After Rayman is captured, Globox delivers a Silver Lum from Ly that restores Rayman's powers. Later, Globox is captured and held in the Canopy; Rayman must free him to receive another Silver Lum. Globox is later re-imprisoned on the Buccaneer, and his children are enslaved in the Iron Mountains mines. Rayman rescues the children, and one child has found the fourth magical mask. In the final battle, Globox is held hostage in the crow's nest. After the Buccaneer's destruction, Rayman's friends mourn him, but he emerges alive. Globox's children also appear in bonus levels where the player controls one of them in a race against a robot pirate; winning the race grants Rayman health or a powerup.
