Kaid
The Moroccan Fortress commander whose Electroclaws electrify a whole stretch of wall.
Kaid is a Defending Operator in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, the codename of Jalal El Fassi. He arrived in the Operation Wind Bastion expansion, released together with the attacker Nomad.
Kaid is a heavily armoured defender. His unique gadget is a pair of throwable "Rtila" Electroclaws that stick to whatever surface they land on and, after a four-second charge, electrify every metal gadget within about 1.4 metres. Placed in the middle of a run of reinforced walls, a single claw can cover three of them, even through the wall itself.

Background
El Fassi grew up hearing stories about the Fortress, a renowned Moroccan training school whose head carries the title "Kaid", meaning commander. He enlisted in the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie (GIGR) at eighteen, rose to the rank of Captain by leading special squadrons on joint counter-terrorism operations, and was eventually chosen by the outgoing commander to run the Fortress himself.
Under his command the school shed an earlier reputation for taking bribes from wealthy families and became one of the region's most respected training grounds. Rainbow courted him for years before a deal that promised to lift the Fortress to international standing finally brought him in. After the Rainbow programme was shut down in 2024 he went back to the Fortress with Oryx, and in 2026 he turned down the offer to rejoin the reformed unit.
In play the claws behave just like Bandit's Shock Wire, and the two defenders are often paired to protect the same room. Because they are electronic, the Electroclaws can be found by IQ, disabled by Thatcher's EMP grenades and destroyed by Twitch's shock drones or Kali's LV Lances. Since Rainbow Six Siege X, electrified gadgets no longer hurt operators; they slow anyone who touches them instead.
