Mute
The SAS signals specialist whose jammers shut down drones and remote charges.
Mute is a Defending Operator in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and Rainbow Six Mobile, the codename of Mark R. Chandar of the British SAS. He is a 2-speed, 2-health defender built around one idea: denying the attackers their electronics.
His unique gadget is the GC90 Signal Disruptor. Mute starts each round with four of them; they sit on floors and other flat surfaces (never on walls), take three seconds to set up and jam everything within a radius of just under 2.5 metres.

Background
Inside a disruptor's field, attacker drones stop working and their feeds turn to static, Zero's ARGUS cameras go blind, and remotely triggered devices such as breach charges refuse to fire until the jammer is destroyed. It also blocks a long list of attacker abilities, including Finka's Adrenal Surge, Blitz's flash shield, Nokk's presence reductor and Iana's hologram, and it shields nearby defenders from Dokkaebi's phone hack and Lion's drone scan.
Chandar was born in York, England, finished secondary school at twelve and went to university at fourteen, later earning a doctorate in electrical engineering. Code-breaking work for British signals intelligence led him into the SAS and then to Rainbow. When the programme was dissolved in 2024 he returned to the SAS, where his team stopped a bomb plot that Brava was investigating, and he accepted the offer to rejoin Rainbow when it was reformed in 2026.
