Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise
A puzzle adventure game about infiltrating a spy's lair.
Agent A: A Puzzle In Disguise is a puzzle adventure game from Australian developer and publisher Yak & Co. Players take on the role of a secret agent tasked with breaking into the hidden lair of enemy spy Ruby La Rouge and thwarting her malicious schemes. The full game is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, macOS, iOS, and Android, with all chapters included on mobile platforms.
In the game, the player controls Agent A, who must capture a dangerous spy responsible for targeting fellow agents. The action unfolds inside the antagonist's secret hideout. After a prologue video shows La Rouge's infiltration plot leading to the apparent death of Agent A's chief, the player is directed to the lair, located on a shoreline near the crime scene. The core gameplay involves finding hidden key items scattered throughout the lair, using them to solve puzzles, and unlocking new areas in pursuit of La Rouge. Success depends on the player's observation, logic, and memory.
Development began with a teaser trailer on April 8, 2015, followed by a full trailer on October 26, 2015. The art style blends a cartoonish world with a retro 1960s look, inspired by the works of Kevin Dart and Shag, and incorporates textures, furniture, and architecture from that era. The game's original working title was "Snowy Village," with an art style that later shifted to a more appealing theme rooted in developer Mark White's personal fondness for secret agent stories and James Bond films, which also suited the gameplay of finding hidden clues and objects.
The iOS version received "generally favourable reviews" on Metacritic. On May 11, 2020, Yak & Co responded to fan requests for a sequel on Twitter, stating, "Nothing is planned yet, but it's possible." Fans have also expressed interest in an Agent B game following the post-credits scene. Nintendo World Report praised the Switch version's setting, visual style, dialogue, and "simple but fun" puzzles, but criticized the lack of serious challenge and missing features in the Switch port.

Lore & Background
The player takes the role of Agent A, a secret agent assigned to catch a dangerous enemy spy that has been targeting fellow agents. The game takes place in the secret lair of the main antagonist, Ruby La Rouge. After witnessing La Rouge's infiltration scheme that leads to the supposed demise of Agent A's chief in the prologue video, the player is then led to the secret lair on the shoreline not far from the committed crime. The player then gathers key items hidden in spots around certain parts of the lair that will lead to unlocking new areas in hopes of finally catching up with and defeating La Rouge. Collecting the key items and utilising them in the environment to solve the puzzles is the core mechanic while relying on the player's keen eye, logic and memory.
A teaser trailer was released on 8 April 2015 and the full trailer was released later on 26 October 2015. The art style of the game was inspired by the works of Kevin Dart and Shag which combined a cartoonish style world with a retro 1960s look, incorporating textures, furniture, and architecture from that era. The game's original working title was "Snowy Village," with a style that later shifted to a more appealing theme rooted in developer Mark White's personal fondness for secret agent stories and James Bond films, which also suited the gameplay of finding hidden clues and objects.
