Adventures of Lolo 2, a puzzle game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, came out in 1990. It was both developed and published by HAL Laboratory. This title marks the sixth game in the Japanese Eggerland series. For European audiences, it was the fourth Eggerland game to see a release, while in North America it was the second.
The gameplay stays almost exactly the same as the first *Adventures of Lolo* released in the US. Both games are collections of puzzles taken from *Eggerland: Meikyū no Fukkatsu* and *Eggerland: Sōzō he no Tabidachi*. A few enemy sprites, such as Gol, Rocky, Skull, Medusa, and Don Medusa, were redrawn. The main changes are the inclusion of fresh puzzles and a higher level of challenge. The game contains 50 puzzle rooms, ending with a fight against King Egger in the North American version, while the Japanese version ends with a battle against Great Egger. Additionally, four hidden Pro rooms exist for players seeking extremely tough challenges.
The Japanese release date was January 6, 1990, with the American version following in March of the same year. Much later, in 2008, the American version became available on the Wii's Virtual Console for North America on January 14.
Critics at *Electronic Gaming Monthly* noted that the game felt largely unchanged from its predecessor. One reviewer commented that the first game had been overlooked, while another felt this sequel wasn't especially strong in graphics, music, or gameplay, recommending it only to puzzle enthusiasts.
