Making and release

In February 2008, metalnews.com reported that guitarist A.J. Minette had departed due to artistic differences.[2] The band added guitarist Andrew Tapley and keyboardist Sean Leonard as replacements.[2] They entered the studio with producer Toby Wright (Metallica, Slayer) at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica, CA.[2] A two-track demo was quickly produced by the band for sale at their live shows.[1]

In 2005, the independent label Hopeless Records signed The Human Abstract.[1] On March 29, 2010, the band revealed they had secured a new singer; eight days later, on April 7, Travis Richter was confirmed as the replacement for Ells.[3]

What the cited sources add

The MetalSucks article from February 8, 2012 noted that in 2011 alone the band parted ways with a vocalist, a guitarist, a label, and two managers.[4] Guitarist Dean Herrera stated on his Formspring page that the band had never actually come together to decide the fate of the band.[4] The Metal Insider article from August 24, 2011 confirmed that The Human Abstract and Travis Richter had parted ways, with Ryan Devlin of Corelia filling in as touring vocalist.[5]
