Takatak, a progressive metal and djent band from Lahore, Punjab, was founded in 2009. It is among the small number of metal bands still performing in Pakistan. The group’s debut album, *Acrophase*, arrived in October 2020, over a decade after the band first formed. The original trio included Zain Peerzada, Yusuf Ramay, and Misbahuddin. The current lineup features guitarists Zain Peerzada and Luke Azariah, drummers Yusuf Ramay and Daud Ramay, vocalists Altamash Sever and Ali Suhail, and bassist Isa Najam. After three years of activity, Takatak went on hiatus in 2012. The band returned in 2018, headlining the Lahore Music Meet with two new songs, “Voyager” and “Phantom,” a performance that marked a major shift. That same year, they released their debut EP, *Out of Something*, containing four tracks, and began work on *Acrophase*. The first single, “Fault Lines,” came out in early 2020, followed by additional singles before the full eight-song album was released in October 2020. *Acrophase* was mixed by Keshav Dhar of Skyharbor and mastered by Ermin Hamidovich.
