Schizoid Lloyd
Dutch progressive metal band from Haarlem, formed in 2007.
Schizoid Lloyd is a progressive metal band from Haarlem, Netherlands. The group came together in October 2007. A year later, they took home the Rob Acda Award in their hometown and put out their first EP, *Virus*, which they produced themselves with help from Oscar Hollemann (known for his work with Ayreon and Within Temptation). That release earned a largely favorable review from 3VOOR12.
In 2010, the band was picked for NH-Pop Live, a year-long talent competition for acts from North Holland, and issued another EP, *Circus*. The following year, they performed at ProgPower Europe in Baarlo alongside Symphony X, Redemption, and Long Distance Calling. During August 2013, they played two shows in Norway—headlining at Betong in Oslo and appearing at the Brynerocken Festival in Bryne.
A contract with Finnish label Blood Music came in 2014. In 2015, Schizoid Lloyd returned to ProgPower Europe in Baarlo, sharing the bill with Pagan's Mind, Soen, Enchant, and headliners Leprous.

Reader's Guide
Schizoid Lloyd's significance lies in their steady rise within the Dutch progressive metal scene, marked by early local recognition and subsequent international festival appearances. Winning the Rob Acda Award in 2008 provided initial momentum, and their selection for NH-Pop Live in 2010 further raised their profile in North Holland. Their performances at ProgPower Europe in 2011 and 2015 placed them alongside established acts like Symphony X and Leprous, indicating a respected standing in the progressive metal community. The band's signing with Blood Music (Fin) in 2014 suggests a growing reach beyond the Netherlands. Their discography, though limited to two EPs and one album, reflects a focused output. While not a household name, Schizoid Lloyd represents a dedicated, regionally successful progressive metal act that contributed to the Dutch metal landscape through consistent live work and festival appearances.
