Prospect, a progressive metal band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, was formed in 1991. Their music draws from Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, and Iron Maiden, and they write all lyrics in English to reach listeners outside Slovenia.
The group released its debut album, *#1*, in 1999, which received a warm reception from heavy metal fans both locally and internationally. Their second album, *Moments*, came out in 2002, after which vocalist Simon Jovanovič left to start his own project, Unspoken. Following an extended search, Robi Grdič took over as vocalist. In 2001, Prospect opened for former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno during his shows in Ljubljana and Zagreb. During October 2003, they joined the Bonded by Metal tour across Europe alongside Exodus, Agent Steel, Mortitian, and Nuclear Assault. In 2005, they supported Queensrÿche on the Austrian leg of their tour. Their third album, *Chronicles of Men*, arrived in 2007. Prospect also wrote and performed the official anthem for Metalcamp, available as a free download from the festival’s website. The band was scheduled to appear at Propower Europe in 2009.
Current members are Roman Fileš (guitar), Dejan Pakiz (keyboards), Robi Grdic (vocals), Urban Medic (bass guitar), and Peter Mlinar (drums). Former members include Jure Pockaj (vocals), Simon Jovanovič (vocals), Rok Plestenjak (keyboard), and Žele Jokič (bass guitar).
