Coby Cotton

History

Coby Cotton and the group released their first YouTube video on April 9, 2009, originally titled "Backyard Stuntmen" and later renamed "Backyard Edition," filmed at Tyler Toney's house and a local public park. Within a week, it received 200,000 views and was mentioned on Good Morning America. Their second video, "Ranch Edition," shot at a Christian summer camp, went viral with over 18 million views; for every 100,000 views, Dude Perfect pledged to sponsor a child through Compassion International.

In 2010, the group introduced the Panda mascot, which became a popular symbol at Texas A&M basketball games for taunting opposing players. In 2016, they traveled to the UK to film with players from Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, and spent three days aboard the USS Nimitz for a Bucket List episode. A second Bucket List video took them to South Africa. In 2021, Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic made a guest appearance.

On September 24, 2025, 7 Brew announced a partnership with Dude Perfect, including appearances and a themed beverage. Coby's twin, Cory Cotton, authored the book "Go Big," sharing business secrets from building a brand in the social media era. On June 24, 2015, the Harlem Globetrotters selected the group in their annual player draft. In September 2015, they were approved for "The Dude Perfect Show" on CMT, which began airing in early 2016; its second season aired on Nickelodeon.

The group went on their first live tour in 2019 and announced a second in 2020. That year, they partnered with YouTube Originals for the documentary "Backstage Pass," which provided a behind-the-scenes look at their 'Pound It, Noggin' tour.
