Life and career
Born 15 May 1991 in Waltham Forest, Greater London, Bennewith first appeared on The Only Way Is Essex in 2012, joining from its fourth series onward. His nickname "Diags" comes from the diagonal shape of his smile in photographs. A Digital Spy reader poll placed him fifth among the show's most popular cast members. On screen, his storylines have included romances with Fran Parman and Elma Pazar, plus a close bond with Chloe Sims.
After Chloe Sims left the show in 2021, Bennewith became its longest-serving cast member. In 2017, Digital Spy ranked him first on a list of "underwhelming reality television stars." He has guested on Sunday Side Up (2013), Keep It in the Family (2015), and FHM: The Last of the Lads' Mags (2016). In 2018, he competed on Celebrity Ghost Hunt alongside Roxanne Pallett and Georgia Harrison.
The following year, he joined TOWIE co-star James Argent on the fifth series of Celebrity Coach Trip; they were eliminated on the trip's second-to-last day. In 2020, he appeared on the BBC show Eating with My Ex with ex-girlfriend Fran Parman. Away from TV, he works for his family's plumbing business.
