Newton Geiszler
The brilliant biologist decoding enemy biology to save humanity from extinction.
Dr. Newton Geiszler is an eccentric and brilliant scientist who serves as one of the lead Kaiju biologists for the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. Unlike the Jaeger pilots who fight on the front lines, Geiszler operates within the Shatterdome laboratories, driven by an insatiable curiosity about the enemy's physiology. While often portrayed as overly enthusiastic, his scientific breakthroughs provide essential intelligence for humanity's defense against the Breach.

Lore & Background
Newton Geiszler is defined by his obsession with Kaiju anatomy. Working closely with Dr. Hermann Gottlieb, he pushes the boundaries of safety protocols to get closer to the monsters they are fighting. Disregarding Pentecost's orders, Newton drifts with a Kaiju brain fragment that is still alive, learning that they are a hive mind of bioweapons created by an alien race to help colonize Earth. At Pentecost's instruction, Newton meets with Hannibal Chau, the leader of a black market organization selling Kaiju body parts. During the meeting, two Kaiju attack the city; Hannibal deduces that the hive mind accessed Newton's memories during the drift, which caused the two Kaiju to seek him out during the rampage. Later, Newton and Hermann drift with a Kaiju brain fragment, discovering that the Breach only opens if it detects Kaiju DNA.
