Key facts and history
The strategy is also called diversity oriented synthesis or DOS.[1] This starting compound can then be transformed via multiple reaction paths.[1] One path uses cycloisomerization with Pd(PPh3)2(OAc)2.[1] Another path uses enyne metathesis with a Hoveyda–Grubbs catalyst.[1]
Martin D. Burke and Stuart L. Schreiber published a planning strategy for diversity-oriented synthesis in 2003.[2] Naoya Kumagai, Giovanni Muncipinto, and Stuart L. Schreiber published a short synthesis of skeletally and stereochemically diverse small molecules in 2006.[3]
What the research sources say
The 2003 paper by Burke and Schreiber has been cited by 1493 works.[2] The 2006 paper by Kumagai, Muncipinto, and Schreiber has been cited by 168 works.[3]
