The Patriots finished the 2011 regular season 13–3, which gave them home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. In the AFC Championship Game they beat the Baltimore Ravens to reach the Super Bowl; it was Tom Brady's fifth win in six AFC Championship Games.
