Synopsis

Aki, a genius musician, composes songs for the rock band Crude Play under producer Takagi. He withdrew from the band before its debut after realizing Shinya was better at playing his part as a ghost musician. His ex-girlfriend, singer Mari, cheated on him with Takagi. Feeling manipulated and depressed, Aki sought something outside music. He met Riko, a teenage girl who fell in love at first sight, and began dating her on a whim, lying about his identity, past, and feelings. Unknown to him, Riko was a talented singer recently scouted by Takagi.

Characters

Aki Ogasawara is a genius music producer and former bassist of Crude Play. He loved music since childhood and started a band with friends Shun, Kaoru, and Teppei. Before their debut with producer Takagi, he discovered their debut CD music was played by professional musicians, not themselves. Losing confidence, he switched places with Shinya as Crude Play's bassist and became the band's composer.

Takagi introduced him to singer Mari; they dated and Aki composed for her until he learned Mari was sleeping with Takagi. After the breakup, he met Riko by chance. Initially feeling nothing, he dated her on a whim to find something outside music. He lied about his identity, while Riko mistakenly believed he was a NEET and a virgin.

He told her he hated girls who sing, not knowing she was a talented singer. He later regretted missing the chance to be her producer, as he fell in love with her voice and her. Riko Koeda is a high school student with a gifted voice who fell in love with Aki at first sight. She is naive but not stupid, and a big fan of Crude Play.

Scouted by Takagi, she formed the band Mush & Co with friends Yuichi and Sota, with Shinya as her producer. Because Aki said he hates girls who sing, she worried and decided to separate work from love, refusing to sing a song Aki made for her. She discovered Aki's lies and his past with Mari, leading to jealousy and insecurity over Mari's beauty and talent. Despite her childish appearance, she is popular, with Shinya, Yuichi, and Shibaken in love with her.
