Dwayne Bravo

Trinidadian all-rounder who played for Mumbai Indians in the first three IPL seasons and later became a death-bowling legend for Chennai Super Kings.

Dwayne John "DJ" Bravo (born 7 October 1983) is a Trinidadian retired cricketer, former captain of the West Indies cricket team and the current mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders as well as the head coach of the other teams of the Knight Riders Group, including Trinbago Knight Riders. A right-arm seam bowling all-rounder, Bravo was well known for his aggressive lower-order batting and for his bowling in the final overs of a match. During his prime, he was regarded as one of the best death bowlers in T20 cricket. He also performs as a singer.

Bravo played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League for the first three seasons. He was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings during 2011 IPL Auctions. He launched his music single "Chalo Chalo" in Chennai on 3 May 2015. He announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 27 September 2024.

Bravo made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago against Barbados in 2002. He made his One Day International debut against England in their 2003/04 tour of the Caribbean. He made his Test debut in the West Indies tour of England in 2004 at Lord's. He retired from Test cricket on 31 January 2015, retired from international cricket in all formats in October 2018, came out of international retirement in December 2019, and finally retired from international cricket on 6 November 2021. He continued to play league cricket and announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 27 September 2024.

Bravo's best bowling figures in Test cricket are 6 for 55, achieved at Old Trafford in 2004.
