Background
Released in the UK on 28 September 1971 and in the US on 22 August 1972, it runs 90 minutes of sketches and animation. All sketches were re-shot without an audience and aimed at American viewers who had not yet seen the series. John Cleese's announcer appears between sketches to say the title line, and the Colonel (Graham Chapman) interrupts some sketches as too silly.
