Brandon Baddock (born March 29, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has previously played for the Montreal Canadiens. He was selected in the sixth round, 161st overall, by the New Jersey Devils in the 2014 NHL entry draft.

Playing career

Baddock began his minor hockey in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) before being selected 134th overall by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the seventh round of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. He spent two more seasons in the Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League (AMMHL) and the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) prior to his Western Hockey League (WHL) debut. That debut came on November 19, 2011, in a 5–2 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. His first WHL goal arrived on September 20, 2012, during a 5–3 win over the Kootenay Ice. In his rookie WHL season he played 59 games, recording seven goals and four assists, and his team reached the WHL Championship final. The following season, 2013–14, he appeared in 56 games with six goals and 11 assists, helping the Oil Kings capture the Ed Chynoweth Cup and the Memorial Cup. Before the 2014–15 season he was named alternate captain; he scored 19 goals and 21 assists in 71 games. In his final WHL season he served as captain, tallying 22 goals and 13 assists over 68 games. After being drafted by the New Jersey Devils, Baddock signed a three-year entry-level contract on June 1, 2016. On January 29, 2017, the Devils' AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, reassigned him to the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder, and he made his professional debut that day in a 3–2 win against the Elmira Jackals. He finished his rookie professional season with four assists in 21 games for the Thunder. He made his AHL debut on October 7, 2017, for the Binghamton Devils in a 2–1 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. His first professional goal came on October 28, 2017, in a 2–1 win against the Springfield Thunderbirds; he ended the 2017–18 AHL season with three goals and four assists in 53 games. The next season he played 67 games, scoring three goals and seven assists, and led the AHL in penalty minutes. On July 15, 2019, the Devils re-signed him to a one-year, two-way contract, and he produced six goals and nine assists in 50 games during the shortened AHL season.
