Laplace's Box

Lore & Background

Laplace's Box originates from the terrorist attack in Universal Century 0001 that destroyed the Laplace space colony, site of the inauguration of the Universal Century calendar, killing the Earth Federation's Prime Minister and sparking the drive to birth NC, which masks the secret 'Laplace Charter.' The Box itself is a hidden document tied to that charter, capable of shaking the Federation's legitimacy. It was originally discovered by Syam Vist, who later confronts Banagher Links at the climax and gives him control of it, symbolizing Banagher's role as a potential catalyst for systemic change. Full Frontal, bearing a chilling resemblance to Char Aznable, pursues the Box to reshape the world order, while Banagher wrestles with the destructive power of the Unicorn's NT-D system and the weight of Laplace's legacy.
