Lore & Background

In Medal of Honor: Vanguard, the Thompson Submachine Gun is part of the weapon customization system. Players are able to customize their weapons, such as adding a drum magazine for a Thompson submachine gun, although these upgrades are only available on certain levels. The game shares many gameplay elements with Medal of Honor: Airborne. At the start of each operation, players parachute onto a battlefield and can roughly designate where they land. Players who land at points marked by green smoke will be able to pick up weapon upgrades and ammunition. Missions can be played out in different ways depending on where players land and which weapons they obtain.

Reader's Guide

The Thompson Submachine Gun in Medal of Honor: Vanguard can be customized with a drum magazine, though this upgrade is only available on certain levels. Players can also add a telescopic sight to an M1 Garand rifle, but no such sight is mentioned for the Thompson. The game features a 2-4 player split-screen multiplayer mode with five modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Scavenger Hunt. The PS2 version requires a multitap to support more than two players. This is currently the last Medal of Honor game to feature split screen mode.
