Spaceships

A Commander commands a fleet of ships, each fully customizable in weapons, engines, armor, and modules. Ships are classed by size: Frigate (250m), Cruiser (400m), Battlecruiser (500m), Battleship (750m), Dreadnought (1000m), and Carrier (1200m). Each ship has four modifications chosen from five options: Standard, Long Range, Assault, Spec Ops, and Stealth. Characteristics such as shields, armor, structure hit points, speed, angular speed, acceleration, deceleration, mass, capacity, and crew are altered by installed modules.

Customization

Every hull, engine, and component is customizable. Modules and hulls are represented as blueprint cards, enabling unique fleet builds.

Development

Development began in late 2014. The game was announced in January 2015 with a trailer, and a Kickstarter campaign followed in May 2015 for MMO-component funding; it reached half its goal but attracted global attention. Starfall Online was greenlit on Steam in nine days. Built with Unreal Engine 4, alpha testing started in November 2018, and the game released on 20 February 2020.
