The plot follows Bunty, a young man who fears marriage due to his parents' loveless relationship. When his parents decide to divorce after a fight on their 35th anniversary, Bunty uses a time machine built by his girlfriend's grandfather, scientist Anthony Gonsalves, to travel back to 1975. Plot & Story

The film centers on Bunty, a young man who refuses marriage after witnessing his parents' loveless relationship. His girlfriend Tanya keeps proposing but he keeps rejecting. She takes him to her grandfather Anthony Gonsalves, a scientist building a time machine. When Bunty's parents Kishen and Mala decide to divorce after a fight on their 35th anniversary triggered by Mala's old school bully Kundan, Bunty sneaks into the time machine without Anthony's supervision and travels to 1975. There he finds his young father is awkward and unattractive while his mother is spirited and attractive. With borrowed money from younger Anthony, Bunty transforms Kishen into a cool dude. He devises a plan to make Mala realize her feelings for Kishen. Complications arise when Mala's friend Mona falls for Bunty and Kundan pursues Mala. The parents oppose the love match, leading to an elopement chase. In the end, the parents accept the couple, and Bunty returns to find his parents deeply in love. He proposes to Tanya, who accepts.

Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India and Sarita Tanwar of Mid-Day both settled at 2.5 out of 5, with Tanwar specifically praising the crackling chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Despite the overwhelmingly negative critical consensus, the film still managed a box office gross of 480 million rupees.
