Playing career
Audette was selected first overall in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Sherbrooke Phoenix after a standout season with Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix of the QMAAA. Over four seasons with Sherbrooke, he recorded 237 points, setting franchise records for goals, assists, and points. After being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2014, he signed an entry-level contract, becoming the first Phoenix draftee to sign an NHL contract. During the 2018–19 season with the Laval Rocket, he played first-line centre, left wing, and third-line centre. The Canadiens did not offer him a new contract, and he signed a minor league deal with the Springfield Thunderbirds on September 13, 2019. After five AHL seasons, Audette moved to Europe, signing a one-year contract with Lukko of the Finnish Liiga on May 28, 2020. In the 2020–21 season, he posted a professional-best 37 assists and 50 points in 60 regular-season games, adding four assists in 11 postseason games as Lukko won its first Finnish championship. He then signed a one-year contract with HC Vityaz of the KHL on June 1, 2021, but left midway through the 2021–22 season to join Örebro HK of the SHL on February 15, 2022. In August 2022, Audette signed a two-year deal with Lausanne HC of the National League. After the 2022–23 season, he and the club mutually agreed to part ways on June 16, 2024. He then joined HC Ajoie for the 2023–24 season alongside former AHL teammate Éric Gélinas. On June 12, 2024, Audette signed with EHC Kloten for the 2024–25 season.
