History
The club entered the East of Scotland Football League in 2008 after Berwick Rangers withdrew their reserve team. In 2009–10, the students won the First Division title, the Scottish Universities Championship, and reached the King Cup final, losing 0–2 to Spartans. The following season, they finished second in the East of Scotland Premier Division and again lost the King Cup final to Spartans, but won the Alex Jack Cup 7–0 against Lothian Thistle. In 2012, they retained the Alex Jack Cup by beating Gretna 2008.
That same year, scholar Stephen Hoyle left to sign for Hawke's Bay United in New Zealand. The 2011–12 season brought three trophies, including the East of Scotland Premier Division title for the first time. This earned the club its debut Scottish Cup appearance in 2012–13, where they lost 0–1 to Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic in the second round. In 2013, Stirling University became a founding member of the Lowland League.
In August 2014, the club appointed Shelley Kerr as manager, making it the first senior British club to have a female manager; she left in April 2017 to coach the Scotland women's national team. Chris Geddes, a long-serving striker, then became first team coach.
