Background
It was the franchise's first playoff season since 1989 and its first in St. Louis, and the Rams were unbeaten at home for the first time since 1973. They beat Minnesota 49-37 in the divisional round and Tampa Bay 11-6 in the NFC Championship Game, the first NFL playoff games ever held in St. Louis, then won Super Bowl XXXIV 23-16 at the Georgia Dome on January 30, 2000. It was the club's first NFL title since 1951. Having finished last in their division the year before, the Rams became the first 'worst-to-first' Super Bowl winner and the first team with an indoor home field to win it.
