For the only time in the series the Mets scored first, on a Kevin McReynolds sacrifice fly that scored Lenny Dykstra in the first inning, and McReynolds later added a two-run home run in the fifth. Cone, rebounding from a poor outing in Game 2, scattered five hits. Tim Leary took the loss.
