Plot

Marge and Homer attend a Drug and Alcohol Night of Knowledge seminar, hiring Shauna Chalmers to babysit. Her boyfriend Jimbo Jones sneaks in, traumatizing Lisa and Maggie with horror movies while Bart watches them make out. The kids leave, and the babysitters throw a house party. Ned Flanders invites the children over for hot coconut milk. Homer and Marge sneak out of the seminar, steal name tags, and pose as Dr. and Mrs. Heffernen to give a keynote speech at the Springfield Wedding Expo, enjoying their time together. Returning home to a party, Homer tries to carry Marge upstairs but falls, spraining her ankle and giving himself an inguinal hernia. His medication causes him to hallucinate his hernia as a small man named Wallace. At physical therapy, Marge bonds with a New Zealand therapist named Nigel, who teaches her kite-surfing. Wallace convinces Homer to skip exercise and a beach trip, straining the marriage. Lisa, seeking advice from Jimbo and Shauna, learns parents need common interests. She persuades Homer to drive the kids to the beach for a school project; Maggie slaps Wallace. At the beach, Homer sees Chief Wiggum's weight and joins Marge kite-surfing, but they are blown into a wind farm and injured. Dimitri is arrested. An epilogue shows a trailer for a spy movie, Mission: Simpossible, featuring Wallace the Hernia.

Reception

Dennis Perkins of The A.V. Club gave the episode a D, calling it a disconnected heap of older plots without an original thought. Tony Sokol of Den of Geek gave it 4 out of 5 stars, feeling it resembled earlier seasons with a mixture of disrespect and family unity. The episode scored a 0.8 rating with a 4 share and was watched by 2.21 million people, making it Fox's second highest rated show of the night behind Family Guy.
