The Dragon Warrior is the prophesied hero held worthy of reading the Dragon Scroll in Kung Fu Panda. In the first film (2008) Oogway unexpectedly gives the title to Po after Po lands in front of the Furious Five during the selection ceremony.
Lore & Background
Shifu had held the tournament expecting one of the Five to be chosen, and he and the Five first treat Oogway's choice as an accident. Tai Lung's turn to evil followed Oogway's refusal to name him Dragon Warrior after sensing malice in him. Po keeps the title in the later films; his own article notes he is also called the Dragon Master and the Warrior of Black and White.
