Plot

A month after Kong's rampage in New York, Carl Denham is nearly bankrupt from lawsuits and leaves the city aboard the Venture with Captain Englehorn. In the Dutch East Indies port of Dakang they meet the singer Hilda Petersen and Nils Helstrom, the skipper who sold Denham the map to Kong's island, who convinces them there is treasure there. After Helstrom incites a mutiny, Denham, Englehorn, Hilda, Helstrom and Charlie the cook are set adrift and land on Skull Island, where the natives blame Denham for the destruction in their village and force the group inland. Denham and Hilda meet a giant albino gorilla, less than half Kong's height, and with its help find a real treasure, a huge jewel on a stone idol. A violent earthquake and hurricane then sink the island, and the lifeboat reaches Denham just as the ape's hand sinks below the water.
