Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II on January 28, 1976, is an American rapper and music executive known for his booming voice and the rags-to-riches story that runs through his music. After a bidding war that drew offers from Bad Boy Entertainment and Murder Inc., he signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Jay-Z at Def Jam Recordings ahead of his 2006 debut single "Hustlin'". His first three albums, Port of Miami (2006), Trilla (2008) and Deeper Than Rap (2009), all reached number one on the Billboard 200.
