Background and release
In February, Starship Entertainment posted a logo video and image on Monsta X's social media that combined the letters K and H, confirming Kihyun's solo debut. He introduced the single album Voyager and its title track during a debut showcase on Naver Now's #OUTNOW in March. The album was issued in three standard editions—Voyager, Somewhere, and The 1st Journey—plus jewel case and KiT versions. It features three songs: the title track "Voyager," ", (Comma)" with lyrics co-written by Kihyun and Etham, and "Rain." The music video for "Voyager" came out alongside the album, and a special clip for ", (Comma)" was released later that month.
Composition
Voyager, meaning "traveler" in English, tells Kihyun's story from a traveler's point of view as he journeys to a new world. The title track is a pop number with addictive bass and guitar sounds, emphasizing his cool vocals and a rocking band sound, with lyrics about adventuring into a dreamed paradise and reflecting his solo music venture. ", (Comma)" has a softer tone, conveying a personal message about the pressure to appear okay despite mental and emotional toll. "Rain" adopts a darker, more mysterious sound, depicting the emotional aftermath of a painful breakup.
Commercial performance
The single album debuted at number six on the monthly Gaon Album Chart, selling over 190,000 copies in its first month in South Korea. Kihyun received a Hanteo Chart Bronze Certification Plaque for 135,436 Initial Chodong sales in its first week. "Voyager" entered the weekly Gaon Digital Chart at number 73 and the monthly chart at number 183, his first monthly digital entry. ", (Comma)" debuted at number 197 on the weekly Gaon Digital Chart, while "Rain" peaked at number 28 on the Gaon Download Chart. All three tracks appeared on the weekly Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, with "Voyager" at number 6, "Rain" at number 8, and ", (Comma)" at number 9.
