Background
High Up Entertainment announced on March 24, 2021, that STAYC would have their first comeback on April 8 with their second single album. Two teasers were posted on the group's social media accounts on March 23 and 24. The first teaser opens with the phrase "I hope someone to show up as soon as possible" and a tight shot of members' lips, while a mysterious voice message appears in both Korean and English. The second teaser displayed the voice messages in text, revealing the release date and album name. The track list was unveiled on March 26, with "ASAP" as the lead single. Concept photos were released in the following days, and the final music video teaser for "ASAP" was released on April 7.
Composition
The album's production is more mellowed and stripped-down compared to the group's debut single album. The lead single "ASAP" is noted as low-key, with a laid-back instrumental hook featuring a twinkly 8-bit-inspired ringtone melody, blending cutesy bubblegum pop with a sensual summer jam. "Love Fool" is a delicate, cruisy song that allows members to bring their distinct persona. "So What" is a bouncy pop song with auto-tune. The final track is an unplugged remix of "So Bad" titled "So Bad (Tak remix)", a dark pop song with EDM and hip hop influences. Black Eyed Pilseung co-produced "ASAP" and "So What" with Jeon Goon, and solely produced "Love Fool"; production credits for the remix were not revealed.
