World Dance Floor is a mode in Just Dance 2014 that allows players to compete against others simultaneously on the same song in a massively multiplayer setting. Players can join at any time with 8 player parties, except for the Wii version, compare their performance against other players during and after each song, and increase their level by playing more often. Occasionally, players can vote to decide on the next song.

In Their Own Story

The lobby hums with the low thrum of a bassline waiting to drop. Four avatars idle near the edges of the virtual floor—two in neon jackets, one in a flowing white dress, one in a simple hoodie—each tapping their feet in anticipation. A countdown flickers overhead. The first beat lands, and the hoodie dancer launches into a sharp shoulder roll while the others mirror the motion with a half-beat delay, the way friends do at a kitchen-party. Laughter, invisible but felt, ripples through the room as the chorus hits and all four bodies lock into the same sweeping arm arc. No one is keeping score. No one needs to. The floor is the only thing that matters, and for thirty seconds it holds everyone in the same breath.

Reader's Guide

To use World Dance Floor, players join the mode and can compete against others in real time. Parties are limited to 8 players, except on Wii. Players can compare performance and level up by playing. Voting may occur to choose the next song.

• World Dance Floor uses a ghost data system.
• The Wii version does not support 8 player parties in World Dance Floor.
