Lore & Background

Just Dance 2 focused on improvements and enhancements to the original game, including new co-operative 'Duet' routines, a team-based 'Dance Battle' mode, a 'Non-Stop Shuffle' mode, a new exergaming-oriented mode known as 'Just Sweat', and paid downloadable content. The game features 48 songs and additional DLC. As of January 2011, it had sold over 5 million copies, making it the third best-selling third-party Wii title and the second best-selling game in the series.

Reader's Guide

Gameplay remains similar to the original: players hold a Wii Remote in their right hand and mimic the routine of an on-screen dancer. Dancers now wear colored gloves for better motion detection. Players can choose between the full version and the short version. Judgements include 'X', 'OK', 'Good', and 'Perfect'. Shake moves have been replaced with gold moves; missing a gold move gives an 'X', while doing it well gives a 'Yeah' and bonus points. Players receive a rating out of 5 stars, a 'Gold Move' motive, and an 'On Fire' motive at the end of a song. Selected songs offer 'Duet' modes with choreography for two players. 'Dance Battle' is a team-based mode for up to eight players. 'Non-Stop Shuffle' plays songs in random order. 'Just Sweat' is an exercise-focused mode for one player using 'sweat points'.
