Plot

Set in March 1999, a decade after Stardust Crusaders and a month before Diamond Is Unbreakable, the story follows Hol Horse, a former servant of Dio, who accepts a request from the mother of Pet Shop's original owner to find her son's other pet, a parrot named Petsounds that possesses a Stand. After encountering Mariah, Hol Horse enlists Boingo and his Stand Tohth, which advises them to visit Morioh. There they meet Josuke Higashikata and Ryoko Kakyoin, Noriaki Kakyoin's cousin. It is revealed that Petsounds is controlled by police officer Kazuki Karaiya, who believes he has the right to rule over others. After Karaiya's defeat, Hol Horse tells Ryoko about her cousin's fate.

Characters

Hol Horse once served Dio and fought Jotaro Kujo and his allies in 1988. A decade after Dio fell, he must locate and return a parrot named Petsounds to its proper owner. His Stand, Emperor, is a long-range weapon that looks like a gun and can curve its bullets. Josuke Higashikata is Joseph Joestar's illegitimate son, a high school freshman living in Morioh with his mother and grandfather. After crossing paths with Hol Horse, Josuke joins the gunslinger's quest. His Stand, Crazy Diamond, can fix objects to their original form or alter their structure, letting him heal wounds or break down complex things into raw parts. Ryoko Kakyoin is the younger cousin of the late Noriaki Kakyoin, still searching for answers about his death. She becomes caught up in the conflict and gains the Stand Thoth after Boingo abandons it. Boingo is an insecure young man living with his older brother. His Stand, Thoth, is a comic book that shows unavoidable predictions of the immediate future. After arriving in Japan, Boingo leaves the book behind, and it ends up with Ryoko. Petsounds is a parrot trained alongside Pet Shop from Stardust Crusaders. After the two birds killed their trainer, Dio adopted them. Petsounds's unnamed Stand can replay any event it has seen, forcing victims to relive the actions and emotions of the roles they are placed into. Kazuki Karaiya is a Morioh police officer who steals Petsounds from its owner in Egypt to gain total control over others. Though not a Stand user himself, he controls Petsounds and its Stand by having the parrot swallow part of his earlobe. Koji Kiyohara is a university student who enjoys killing innocent animals with a crossbow. Karaiya exploits his twisted nature, manipulating him to work with Petsounds against the officer's enemies.
