This process allowed him to shed his North Korean persona and become the British entrepreneur Gustav Graves. After Bond infiltrates the base and Moon attempts to kill him during a hovercraft chase that ends with Moon's craft tumbling over a waterfall, Moon is presumed dead but survives. Fourteen months later, after being captured and tortured by the Korean People's Army, he is traded in a prisoner exchange across the Bridge of No Return. Using his new identity as Gustav Graves, he re-enters the world at Blades Club in London, where he meets Bond for a fencing match that escalates into a claymore duel. He invites Bond to Iceland for a scientific demonstration of Icarus. There, Graves seduces Miranda Frost and captures NSA agent Jinx Johnson. When Bond rescues Jinx, Graves reveals his true identity as Moon. The climax occurs on Graves' An-124 cargo plane over the Korean peninsula. Graves attempts to use the Icarus beam to melt a path through the DMZ, but his father, General Moon, rejects the plan upon realizing it could restart the Korean War and escalate into World War III. Graves kills his own father in response. During a struggle on the decompressing plane, Bond opens Graves' parachute, pulling him out of the aircraft and into one of its engines, disabling the Icarus beam and killing the villain.
