Battle Beast's Mercenaries

Lore & Background

Battle Beast was exiled from Viltrum for prioritizing honorable combat over planetary subjugation. This philosophy attracted a loose network of fighters who respected his code rather than feared his power. Unlike standard military units, these individuals are bound by a mutual appreciation for physical prowess and the thrill of battle without political strings attached. During the intergalactic saga where he travels with Invincible, this network becomes visible as they visit various worlds to challenge local champions. The group highlights Battle Beast's unique position in the universe: a Viltrumite who rejects his empire's methods but retains its physical dominance. Their interactions emphasize that strength can exist outside of tyranny.

Reader's Guide

The informal collective formed around Battle Beast serves a singular purpose: finding worthy combatants across the galaxy. Unlike Viltrumite conquest forces, this group operates without a rigid hierarchy or political agenda beyond the pursuit of strength. Leadership rests solely with Battle Beast himself, whose reputation as an exiled warrior draws dangerous fighters to his ship. Notable members vary by location, often consisting of local champions or rogue aliens seeking glory rather than profit.

Internal conflicts are rare because shared respect for combat usually overrides personal disputes among the crew. However, loyalty is fleeting; once a fight concludes, many warriors depart to seek new challenges elsewhere. Ultimately, this assembly evolves from a traveling party into a loose network of contacts. During his journey with Invincible, Battle Beast utilizes these connections to test Mark's abilities against diverse species.

The group does not survive as a permanent unit but leaves a legacy of intergalactic combat records and mutual respect among the strongest fighters in the universe.
