Devullu (meaning "Gods") is a 2001 Telugu supernatural film directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The cast includes Prithvi, Raasi, Master Nandan, and Baby Nitya in lead roles, with Suman, Srikanth, Rajendra Prasad, Ramya Krishna, and Laya appearing in supporting parts. Produced by Chegondi Haribabu and Karatam Rambabu under the Babu Pictures banner, the music was composed by Vandemataram Srinivas. The film was also released in Tamil under the title Kuzhanthaiyum Deivamum.
The story follows Prashanth, a well-known singer, who quickly marries Nirmala after appreciating her honesty in pointing out his flaws. When his career declines, Nirmala helps him regain his reputation as a composer, but she ends up surpassing him. Over time, the couple has two children, Chintu and Bhavani, but their growing egos lead to constant conflict. They decide to divorce, and their children suffer from the separation, wishing to reunite them. The children learn from their grandmother that the troubles stem from the couple failing to fulfill certain solemn vows at seven holy sites. Determined, the children set out on a journey to complete these vows.
They first go to Kanipakam to offer a Mudupu to Siddhi Vinayaka, where a mouse tells them that all evils follow Kali's orders, which even the gods cannot oppose, and that only human devotion and faith can defeat him. The mouse advises them to continue and delays their parents' divorce by causing an accident for their lawyer. At Tirumala, burglars attack the children, but Venkateswara protects them and gives them a tour with his wife Alamelu Manga. The children offer their Niluvu Dopidi, and Alamelu tries to pay them, but police arrest the gods after Kali's interference; the gods vanish. Prashanth and Nirmala notice the children missing and file a complaint. The grandmother and her brother, Major BM Rao, track the children's movements. The kids head to Bhadrachalam, where a ferry leaves them without money, but Anjineeya comforts them. Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita show them around and order Anjineeya to drop them at Vijayawada, which he does. With help, a squirrel tears the divorce papers to delay proceedings.
In Vijayawada, a thief steals Kanakadurga's nose stud (Mukku Pudaka), and police pursue him. He hides it in the children's bag, their Eerumudulu. The children spend a night in the temple but cannot perform the Vratham vow. Srisaila Bharmara
