The Island of Vamanapuri

Casting & Records

Albhutha Dweep assembled a cast that pushed the boundaries of what was possible in Indian cinema. The lead roles were carried by Guinness Pakru and Prithviraj Sukumaran, supported by a roster that included Mallika Kapoor, Jagathy Sreekumar, Jagadish, Indrans, Kalpana, Ponnamma Babu, and Bindu Panicker. The most remarkable casting choice, however, was Ajayan in the role of Prince Gajendran. Vinayan revealed that American director Ron Howard had expressed interest in remaking the story in English and that the production team had reached out to him for a discussion.
