• A sequel, Cosmic League (also called Cosmic Break 2), was announced in 2015 with different mechanics and cast, and its Kickstarter campaign raised less than half its target.
• CosmicBreak 2 was released in the Summer of 2015 and was planned to continue service alongside the original game.
• In 2021, a more widely released version called CosmicBreak Universal was made live on Steam in the US.

Story

The game takes place in a parallel dimension called the Cosmic Ark in the distant future. A race of long-dormant, gigantic robots known as Arks awaken to find their galaxy ruled by the evil Chaos. The three remaining great Arks of Wisdom, Courage, and Strength have been drained of energy, with only enough left to revive one. Three Unions, each following one of the great Arks, compete to revive their Ark and defeat Chaos. Additional backstories exist for characters such as Crimrose and Ivis, Eihwaz, and the meeting between Eris and Resha.

Gameplay

Upon first entering the game, players originally chose one of three initial robots and a Union to join, though this was later changed to allow selection from a growing pool of robots, initially numbering twenty-one. The three Unions are Bladine, led by Guardian Lios, which values courage and loyalty; Wizdom, led by Guardian Icy, which emphasizes strategy and intelligence; and Dostrex, led by Guardian Dracken, which prizes strength and honor. Players build an inventory of robots in their garage and select one as their Commando for battle. Robots are divided into four types: Air robots have longer-lasting boosters and better mid-air agility; Land robots excel in ground combat and melee attacks; Artillery robots specialize in heavy, long-range firepower; and Support robots are balanced with special repair skills. Robots also come in small, medium, and large sizes, which affects customization of weapons and parts.
