In the Hyperion Cantos the Hegemony of Man encompasses over 200 planets, most of them connected by instantaneous farcaster portals into the WorldWeb. CEO Meina Gladstone resides on Tau Ceti Center (TC2), which orbits the star Tau Ceti.
Lore & Background
Planets of the old neighborhood, the region of space close to the Sol system, include Barnard's World, Heaven's Gate, Mare Infinitus and Tau Ceti Center. Worlds of the Hegemony that later belong to the Pax include Lusus, Pacem, God's Grove, Maui-Covenant, Renaissance Vector and Renaissance Minor. Fuji, Mao Four, New Mecca, Qom-Riyadh and Tsingtao-Hsishuang Panna are Hegemony worlds that later stay mainly independent of the Pax. Worlds without farcasters, such as Hyperion, are called the Outback.
